What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site saves on a visitor's device and which are sent back to the site on later visits. They exist to remember things: a stated preference, a signed-in state, a statistical identifier.
Italian and European law distinguishes two categories under different regimes:
- technical cookies, necessary to deliver the service the user asked for, which require no prior consent;
- non-technical cookies — non-anonymised statistical measurement, profiling, advertising — which require freely given, specific and revocable consent.
The cookies this site uses
Technical cookies
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Controller |
|---|---|---|---|
mi_consent | Records the choice made on the consent banner, so it is not shown again on every page | 180 days | First party |
It is the only cookie the site sets on its own. It is created only after you have made a choice — accepting or refusing — and it contains nothing but the value of that choice.
Statistical measurement cookies
The site is set up to use Google Analytics 4 as its traffic analysis tool. These cookies are set only if you give consent through the banner.
Third-party cookies
Consistently with the editorial policy, the site embeds no third-party content capable of setting cookies: no embedded video, no maps, no social network panels, no fonts loaded from external servers, no advertising networks. The typefaces used are those already present on your device.
How consent works on this site
The banner appears on your first visit and offers two explicit, equivalent choices: Essential only and Accept. Nothing is pre-selected, and closing the banner without choosing does not amount to consent: until you state a preference, no measurement tool is switched on.
Consent, once given, is recorded for 180 days. After that period the request is put again.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can change your mind at any time, with no effect on browsing.
The site currently loads no non-essential script: there is nothing to authorise and the consent banner is never shown. This button will reappear here once a measurement tool is switched on.
When the banner is active, the button above clears the stored choice and brings it back. Alternatively you can delete the site's cookies from your browser settings: the procedure is documented by the respective makers for Chrome (opens in a new tab), Firefox (opens in a new tab), Safari (opens in a new tab) and Microsoft Edge (opens in a new tab).
Local storage and other technologies
Beyond the technical cookie described above, the site saves two interface preferences in your browser's local storage (localStorage):
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
mi-theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or the dark theme | Until you clear the site's data |
mi-lang | Remembers the language last chosen from the switcher in the header | Until you clear the site's data |
These are technical values, written only after an explicit action on your part, and they stay on your device: they are sent neither to us nor to any third party, they identify no individual, and they are not used for profiling.
In particular, mi-lang is never used to redirect you: the Italian and English versions both remain reachable at their own addresses, and no content changes according to that value.
The site does not use sessionStorage, browser fingerprinting, tracking pixels or any other identification technology.
Processing of personal data
The purposes of processing, the legal bases, the retention periods and the rights you can exercise are described in the privacy policy. For any request the address is privacy@miglioriiptv.it; the other contact details are on the contact page.
