We have no hands-on testing we can publish yet. Everything on this page comes from the developers' official documentation and from app store listings, not from trials we ran ourselves.
Until we publish measurements we gathered first-hand you will find no scores, no ratings and no start-up times here: we would rather show a table with a few empty cells than one full of numbers nobody can check. The protocol we will follow is public.

The route to a decision
First question: which device will you use?
This is the hardest constraint, because it determines which store you have access to. The answer points to a single page.

Second question: what kind of source do you have to load?

Third question: do you need the programme guide?
With a handful of channels it is beside the point. With hundreds it becomes essential, and at that point the quality of the implementation matters more than its mere presence: how time zones behave, how many days it loads, how readable the grid is on a television. What this table does not contain
No scores, no rankings, no “best overall”. The reason lies in the method: the information comes from the developers' official documentation and from store listings, not from tests we ran. Awarding marks on that basis would mean turning a collection of stated capabilities into a judgement we have no grounds to make.
The protocol we will apply when we publish first-hand measurements — start-up times, channel change speed, stability across a long session — is already public in how we test, along with the full list of criteria.
